Dr. Maria Chuquer, MD FRCPC
Founder, Medical Director, Migraine and Obesity Medicine Program Director
Dr. Maria Chuquer is an Anesthesiologist with over 13 years of clinical practice in her specialty. She has been a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Anesthesiology since 2018 and has obtained advanced certifications in Headache Medicine, Medical Aesthetics, Cosmetic Dermatology and Obesity Medicine. In the academic field, Dr. Chuquer is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine as well as a Faculty Member of the Canadian Association of Medical Aesthetics (CAMA).
Dr. Maria is the Founder of Aurea Medical as well as Xthetics Face & Body Sculpt, a fast growing physican-led luxury medical spa in Calgary. In her spare time, she is an avid tennis player and coach, drummer and mother of 3.

Family Physician | Women’s Health
Dr. Victoria Wilkes grew up in Calgary and completed her residency training in Family Medicine in West Virginia. She returned to Calgary and has been working as a family practitioner since 2017. Her contact with women has led to her becoming passionate about Women’s Health. Her goal is to rectify the misinformation about the management of menopause and specifically in regard to hormone therapy treatment.
Dr. Wilkes is credentialed as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) through the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). She understands that menopause symptoms includes, but is not limited to, the familiar hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Dr. Wilkes wants to help women take control of their menopausal journey by offering various evidence based solutions including; cancer and menopause education, hormonal and non-hormonal treatments. She also provides hormone IUD insertions.
Dr. Wilkes is married with two young children who keep her very busy in her spare time.

Amrita commenced her academic journey at the University of Calgary, where she initially pursued Kinesiology. Realizing her strong inclination towards healthcare within the domain of healthy living, she made a switch to the Bachelor of Nursing program. Amrita’s professional path then led her to roles in occupational health and immunization clinics. Upon obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, she furthered her education by completing a Masters in Nursing, focusing on leadership, research, and breastfeeding.

Dr. Cristurean (MD, CCFP (SEM), Dip. Sport Med.) obtained his medical training at the University of Calgary and McGill University. He has been practicing as a primary care Sports Medicine Physician in Calgary since 2014, helping thousands of patients return to a life of pain-free movement and enjoyment. He is also a team physician with the Mount Royal University varsity teams (hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball) since 2015. Additionally, he has also assisted with the Calgary Stampeders, Cavalry FC, Calgary Roughnecks, Calgary Hitmen, ISU Speed Skating World Cup, Cirque du Soleil, Montreal Alouettes, Montreal Impact, and Montreal Canadiens.
He enjoys working with patients of all ages, and has a special interest in the treatment of joint, tendon, ligament, and muscle pain, with a focus on long-term joint and soft tissue preservation and health. He has extensive training and experience in the application of lifestyle interventions, return-to-play planning, and the use of oral, topical, and injectable treatments. At Aurea Medical, Dr. Cristurean offers thorough assessments with individually tailored treatment plans, and the latest in evidence-based regenerative treatments for patients who are good candidates for these. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.

Pharmacist
Trish graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 2000 and has worked in the community pharmacy and clinical roles since that time. She is currently Pharmacy Manager with an independent pharmacy in Calgary, as well as a diabetes educator with the interprofessional clinic, LMC Endocrinology Calgary.
She is an advocate for collaboration between professions to best support patients and excited about working as a team member of the Aurea Medical Program.
