Intravenous Therapy & Headache Care Suite

Through a partnership between Action Health and Capsule Pharmacy, our Intravenous (IV) Therapy Room was designed to provide efficient, evidence-based treatments in a calm, comfortable clinical environment. Our goal is to offer patients timely access to therapies that are often difficult to obtain in traditional settings, while minimizing the need for emergency department visits and prolonged wait times. Our IV suite supports a range of medical indications, with a particular focus on iron deficiency, chronic migraine prevention, and acute migraine management.

IV Iron Infusions

Iron deficiency—with or without anemia—is a common yet often underdiagnosed condition that can significantly impact quality of life. Symptoms may include fatigue, reduced exercise tolerance, brain fog, hair loss, and shortness of breath.
At Aurea Medical, we offer intravenous iron infusions for patients who are unable to tolerate oral iron, have poor absorption, or require rapid repletion. IV iron is also appropriate for patients with chronic conditions such as inflammatory disorders, heavy menstrual bleeding, or preoperative optimization needs.
Our infusions are administered in a physician monitored setting supported by experienced medical staff, ensuring both safety and comfort. Most patients experience a meaningful improvement in energy levels and overall well-being within weeks of treatment.

Vyepti® (Eptinezumab) for Chronic Migraine Prevention

For patients living with chronic migraine, defined as 15 or more headache days per month, preventive therapy is essential to improving function and quality of life.
We offer Vyepti® (eptinezumab), an intravenous CGRP monoclonal antibody administered every 3 months. Vyepti works by targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) pathway, a key mediator in migraine pathophysiology. One of its unique advantages is its rapid onset of action, with some patients experiencing benefit within days of infusion.
This treatment is ideal for patients who:
Have frequent or disabling migraines

  • Have not responded adequately to oral preventive medications
  • Prefer a quarterly infusion over daily or monthly therapies

Our medical team can also provide comprehensive assessment and follow-ups to ensure optimal response and integration into a broader migraine management plan.

Acute Migraine IV Treatment (Headache Rescue Therapy)

  • For patients experiencing moderate to severe acute migraine attacks, especially those refractory to oral medications, our IV therapy suite offers a highly effective alternative to emergency department care.
We provide customized combination IV treatments that may include:
    Intravenous fluids (for hydration)
  • NSAIDs (e.g., ketorolac) for pain control
  • Antiemetics (e.g., metoclopramide or ondansetron)
  • Corticosteroids to reduce recurrence

These protocols are designed to abort migraine attacks quickly and safely, often within a few hours, in a quiet and supportive environment. This service is particularly beneficial for patients who:

  • Have frequent emergency visits for migraines
  • Experience severe nausea/vomiting limiting oral medication use
  • Require rapid symptom control to return to daily function

Our approach allows patients to avoid long emergency department wait times while receiving expert, targeted care.

Peripheral Nerve Blocks for Migraine

As part of our comprehensive headache program, we also offer peripheral nerve blocks for both acute and chronic migraine management.
These minimally invasive procedures involve the injection of local anesthetic (with or without corticosteroid) around key sensory nerves, such as:
Greater occipital nerve

  • Lesser occipital nerve
  • Auriculo- Temporal Nerve
    Supraorbital and supratrochlear nerves
  • Nerve blocks can provide rapid pain relief during acute exacerbations and may also reduce headache frequency when used as part of a preventive strategy.
They are particularly beneficial for patients who:
Have chronic migraine or status migrainosus
  • Cannot tolerate or have contraindications to systemic medications
  • Require bridging therapy while waiting for preventive treatments to take effect

These procedures are performed by experienced physicians in a safe, outpatient setting
