Obesity Medicine

Our Obesity Medicine program is heavily based in Obesity Canada’s Clinical Practice Guidelines. We created a multidisciplinary, patient-centered and evidence-based program based on principles of chronic disease management, where we validate patients’ lived experiences, move beyond simplistic approaches of “eat less, move more,” and address the root drivers of obesity. Most importantly, we have assembled a team of physicians and allied health consultants with special training in obesity medicine, and we have created a welcoming, safe and stigma-free environment for our patients.

Some of our evidence-based interventions include medical nutrition therapy, physical activity, psychological and behavioral interventions, pharmacotherapy, and referral to surgery.
